Sylvana is a high yielding variety suitable for the washed fresh market. It produces regular, short oval tubers with a high proportion in the 65mm plus size band. Sylvana is light yellow fleshed, a firm cook type free from disintegration and no after cooking blackening. Sylvana is available to all UK customers from wholesale to retail.
Jelly is a smooth skinned, long oval variety with rich yellow flesh. With medium Dry Matter, Jelly makes attractive golden roast potatoes or chips. With long Dormancy and good storage qualities, Jelly is ideal for marketing from October to June for the pre-pack industry.
Mayan Twilight’s origins are from the foothills of the Andes in Peru. It is a very exciting Phureja ideally suited to pre pack markets offering their unique ‘Umami’ flavours. With a yellow and red skin the variety is very attractive to look at.
Vales Emerald, an outstanding early bulking variety available exclusively from Greenvale AP, is a Peer/Charlotte cross with an attractive appearance on the shelf, excellent flavour on the table and very robust characteristics in the field.
Safari is ideal for the baker market producing a high percentage of bold tubers. With moderate dry matters, cream yellow flesh and good flavour, it’s perfect for consumers. Safari is available to all customers from wholesale to retail.
Sorrento is a new high yielding party coloured variety suitable for both the conventional and organic baker and pre-pack sectors. It is oval in shape with bright white and pink eyes on the skin with white/cream flesh.
Trials have shown good resistance to powdery scab, blackleg and common scab. It has very good resistance to both tuber and foliage blight.
Vales Everest is an exceptionally high yielding variety suitable for processing. It is well regarded as a good maincrop potato, particularly suitable for those growing in hot dry climates such as the Mediterranean as it has very good drought tolerance.
It is susceptible to black dot, black leg, bruising and dry rot Fusarium sulphureum . Shows resistance to black scurf.
